Eight Twelve Sixteen - Second Edition
A downloadable game
Since this game has been my most popular to date, and I have found myself unsatisfied with the original, I have decided to publish a revised version.
This game was inspired by a Youtube Video by Drungeoncraft where Professor DM pointed out that across all levels of D&D it can be expected that if you roll 8 or more on a 20 sided dice for a challenge your character is meant to be good at you've succeeded. By extension if they're meant to be ok at a task a 12 or more will be a success. And if a task is doable by anyone a 16 or more is a success.
This game has you assign tasks to these 3 values, and roll over the values when you must do something. I've also made it player facing, and added Level scaling and Armor reducing damage.
In this new version of the game I have mostly fixed small mistakes and made the formatting more presentable. I have also boosted the Thief and Monk classes. Thief have a small damage bonus, and Monk now has an Armor Soak equal to their level when not wearing armor. Additionally I changed how much armor monsters have, with it being equal to Level/Hit Die, and not Level+3. I have also made it so all successful attacks deal at least 1 damage, regardless of Armor. And lastly, I have added the Shaman class, as a Druid Analogue. I hope you enjoy the new game!
The first edition can be found here: https://sotreknomad.itch.io/eight-twelve-sixteen
Lastly! Stay tuned for this holiday season. I have something big planned, and I'm sure you'll all like it. Regards, SOTrek Nomad!
