Long gone are the days when gods walks among men, as shining beings of living metal, or great beasts of earthly power. The cities of a long gone era sit being consumed by nature, their wonders and terrors now unclaimed. Now is a time when humanity can make their mark on the world. For them to stand tall and make their own myths. A time for you to become a legend; or die trying. The world you find yourself in is one which is on the surface prospering. A new era of global trade has brought wonders from across the globe together. Lost knowledge is being re-found in the Ruins of bygone civilizations. Magic is becoming not just the territory of Priestly elites and hereditary artisans. And there is work for those called the Companions of Limitas, who are unbounded by the ties of family and nation.
However, this world is facing dangers which threaten to overwhelm. These trade roots are precarious, hounded by pirates, monsters, and rival powers. Much of this lost knowledge was better off being lost, being too abhorrent for the light of day. This new magic may overrun the old order. And if this does not, the new hoards of Iron will crash against the old elites of bronze like an ocean of blood. Onto this stage you and your companions set forth. To explore and conquer, to liberate and revel. What will they do? Brave the deeps of ancient secrets only to spend the plunder on fine booze and meat? Bring civilization to monster filled wilderness? Stop the incursion of domination into the old wilds of this world? Its all up to you!

Companions of Limitas is a d100 based Fantasy TTRPG set in a Late Bronze Age world. You are Companions of Limitas, people with no permanent allegiances or homelands who travels the Bronze Road in search of lost magic, ancient ruins, and foes to defeat. This book details all the basics of playing the game and includes:

  • over 10 societies to originate from, such as the wyvern taming Mitger and Mummy ruled Uroro
  • 12 tables for generating random societies, such as values, taboos, magic, and size
  • detailed rules for founding and running cities or nomadic bands, as well as rules for the fate of your creation after your character's death
  • basic rules for three different magic systems
  • over 70 creatures to populate your combat encounters, from classics like dragons and ghouls, to more exotic foes like the 500 year old shaman cat and the compost killer
  • detailed rules for NPC creation
  • a detailed skill and trait system which allows for detailed character customization
  • a starting adventure surrounding the political struggles of Honow, the most important trading hub along the Bronze Road, which allows your players to have an active role in the politics of world trade
  • a sample ruin with 10 rooms for the players to explore as part of the starting adventure
  • and a d1000 chart of random words

If you are a fan of classic Fantasy such as Conan, Fafhrd & the Gray Mouser, or Elric; or are a fan of real world history & mythology;  you will find something to enjoy in this game.  There are over 100 pages of content in the basic guide, along with character sheets, maps, & table guides. I have been working on this game on and off since 2019, with extensive play testing and reworking, all to bring you a culmination of everything I love about Fantasy and Table Top RPGs. I hope you enjoy it!

I have plans for future installments in the series, expanded rules for magic, ruins along the Bronze Road, and monsters for your characters to encounter, so stay tuned!
